Reflexology

Reflexology is a complementary therapy in which one small area of the body (usually the feet) is used as a map of the whole body. Massaging particular pressure points in this area can trigger a response in the corresponding part of the body.  Reflexology is not foot massage but can be very relaxing.  I practice 'Reflex Zone Therapy' which is a specific clinical style of reflexology suited to maternity care.

Reflexology can help with

  • Feeling of anxiety, fear and tension

  • Fatigue and sleeplessness

  • Symptoms like nausea, vomiting and excessive saliva

  • Heartburn and indigestion

  • Constipation

  • Haemorrhoids

  • Musculoskeletal discomforts such as backache, sciatica, symphysis pubis discomfort and pelvic pain

  • Carpal tunnel syndrome

  • Preparing your body to start labour
