Gemma Taylor RM, BHSc Midwifery

Hello, I’m Gemma, a midwife and mum to 2 little folk.

I am committed to supporting families through pregnancy to parenthood as I understand the raw vulnerability and transformation that occurs during this time. My passion lies in listening to parents and developing maternity services to provide excellent, kind and considerate care.

I’m an experienced and compassionate practitioner who is dedicated to helping families achieve a positive pregnancy and birth.  Since gaining a first-class honours degree in Midwifery I have worked in various maternity care settings and have specialised in diabetes, homebirth and bereavement care.

Over the last 20 years I have endeavoured to improve maternity services.  I have presented my work at the European Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and am honoured to have been presented with the Iolanthe Award, Ann Stewart Award and an Outstanding Achievement Award in recognition of my efforts within the NHS.

A special interest in holistic care led me to undertake further training in complementary therapies; including aromatherapy, reflexology, and acupuncture. I now combine my midwifery knowledge with my complementary therapy skills to enhance the pregnancy and birth expereince.

I am regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and the Federation of Antenatal Educators (FEDANT), and I have full insurance and valid Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks.
