Acupuncture
Acupuncture involves inserting very fine needles into specific points on the body. It is used to stimulate the nervous system and encourage the release of endorphins, the body's natural pain-relieving chemicals. Treatments are tailored to the individual and aim to promote relaxation and support the body's natural processes and overall wellbeing.
Reflexology
Reflexology involves applying gentle pressure to specific points on the feet. It is based on the principle that these points correspond to different areas of the body. The treatment is designed to promote deep relaxation and support overall wellbeing. I practise Reflex Zone Therapy, a clinical approach to reflexology that is particularly suited to supporting wellbeing throughout pregnancy.
Aromatherapy
Aromatherapy uses carefully selected essential oils to support physical and emotional wellbeing. When clinically appropriate, personalised blends are created based on your individual needs to help promote relaxation and enhance the overall effects of a treatment.
Moxibustion for Breech Presentation
For breech presentation, moxibustion may be recommended. This involves gently warming a specific acupuncture point using a herb called mugwort to support optimal positioning of your baby. Guidance and appropriate equipment can be provided for safe use at home, typically from around 34 weeks of pregnancy.
